The Seminole Tribe
The Seminole Indians were originally from
Florida. They moved to
Oklahoma after the Indian Removal Act, signed by Andrew Jackson in May, 1930. They then settled in the Southeastern part of
Oklahoma. While they lived in
Florida they would fight alligators and would kill them and take them back to their huts and eat them. In
Oklahoma they would eat buffalo and food from the forest. They grew some of their food and fished from their log boats. In their villages they had chickens and gardens. Their huts were raised on platforms with open sides and roofs. The roofs were made with leaves. They all worked outdoors. One famous Seminole is Cootie Johnson, a Creek freeman. He was the official lawyer of the Western Seminole tribe during the oil boom days in the
Indian Territory. The Seminole Indians did not always live in
Florida. They were once a part of the Creek Tribe that lived and farmed in southern
Georgia and
Alabama. I chose the Seminole because their huts look cool. I also wanted to learn more about the Indians.

Mississippi, Tennessee, and parts of Kentucky, and Alabama. My tribe lived in a summer house and winter house and lived in the south region. The winter house was the shape of a number six. The summer house was the shape of a rectangular. They made knifes, cloths, horns, spears, and liver to keep the water in the liver. They hunted buffalo, deer, tigers, and lions. Johnston Murray is a famous Chickasaw, and he is not alive. He tells stories to the kids of Chickasaw. They are the first tribe to make a game. They are the tribe that has 2 homes.

The Choctaw people lived in
Mississippi and
Alabama and now they live in
Oklahoma,Louisiana,Mississippi,Alabama,Georgia, andFlorida.Western is where my tribe lives. My tribes live in tepees in the old days but now they live in houses and buildings. In the old times they put paintings and pictures on their tepees. The crafts they made were pictures because it means something. Choctaw and Cherokee where friends and still are today. The Choctaw is very peaceful. They hunted and raised corn and other crops. The Choctaw are the
Muskogee family. The Choctaw were located in central and southern
Mississippi and in southern
Alabama. The Choctaw where hunters, fishermen, and gatherers .They wore clothing made from skins, furs, feathers, and bark. The Choctaw were by nature probably the most peaceful Indians the south east. The members of the red sticks later began attacking white settlements over the land in figment.Andrew Jackson conquered the warring Creek. They were forced to cede all lands in the southern
Georgia to the
United States in1814.The ceding of the land was opposed by the majority of the tribe, and the creek National council agreed that no other land been ceded to the
United States. The National council stalled notations of the Treaty to offset tribal uprisings and coined out the death penalty for William McIntosh. Some of his fowlers were also assassinated. In 1826, opposition from the majority of the tribe resulted in negotiated the Indian springs Treaty. They entrée into now negate actions for another Treaty, and the outcome was the nullification against the Indian Springs. When they put paint on their horse’s eyes then that means they see batter. When they put paint on the horse’s feet that makes them run and if they put it on their face that means war. Choctaw is a great tribe to be and live in because it is a very very very nice place and tribe to live in!

Bison
My report is on the bison. They lived on American plains. I don’t know when the buffalo arrived. The cause of the Bison dying is people shooting them. Buffalo Bill killed the head cow so fifty bison would get shot. The Sioux called bison Tutunca. Bison hide could be made into instruments. Indian tribes did a dance to call more bison. Bison live to be 30 or 40 years. Indians used their fur for tepees and clothing. The bison chews on a cud. A cud is when you throw up and swallow, so it’s like eating twice. The bison has a long beard. They wallow on the ground to get rid of biting insects. I chose this topic because I love animals. I used a book called bison, and the internet.

Cherokee Tribe
The Cherokee lived in the south east region of the
United States. We believe they came from the north to
Ohio valley. The Cherokee’s land was over 45 thousand square miles and included 200 towns and villages. Here are some fun facts that relate to the Cherokee tribes. Cherokee means caveman. The Cherokee was one big tribe that was split up into small clans. Each clan had hunters, fishermen, chiefs, and farmers. The Indians and Frenchmen fought in 1756. The Cherokee and the English teamed up against the Frenchmen.
